The Clearwater Council of Governments (COG) provides progressive and innovative services to County Boards, Providers, and to people with Developmental Disabilities and their families in Ohio. The Clearwater COG is a government entity organized in 1996 in accordance with chapter 167 of the Ohio Revised Code, representing nine (9) County Boards of Developmental Disabilities. Our member county boards are Crawford, Erie, Huron, Lucas, Marion, Morrow, Ottawa, Richland and Seneca. We also provide services to non-member county boards. Position Description:
The Executive Director will be the chief executive of the Clearwater COG responsible for overseeing the administration, programs, and strategic plan of the organization. The Executive Director will lead with vision, integrity, and operational expertise, serving as the primary spokesperson and relationship-builder with employees, members, partners, and stakeholders.
Duties:
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Strategy
- Develop and implement strategic plans to advance the organization’s mission.
- Provide visionary and adaptive leadership to staff and board.
Operations & Management
- Oversee daily operations, program delivery, and internal policies.
- Recruit, develop, and retain talented staff; foster a healthy organizational culture.
Financial Stewardship
- Develop and manage annual budgets; ensure long-term financial sustainability.
Board Relations
- Collaborate with the Board of Directors to ensure effective governance.
- Provide regular reports and updates on organizational progress and challenges.
Requirements:
Qualifications
- Experience in working in the developmental disabilities field (preferably 10+ years).
- Proven experience in a leadership role (preferably 5+ years).
- Master’s degree preferred, bachelor’s degree required.
- Strong strategic planning, organizational, and financial management skills.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
- Main office is located at the Ottawa County Board of DD in Oak Harbor, Ohio. The work location of the Executive Director is flexible based upon where they reside.
- Remote work is an available option; however, regular travel is required.
Travel:
Position is home based but regular travel is required
Compensation:
Salaried: $90,000 - $110,000
