Position Description:

The Program Director/Qualified Intellectual & Developmental Disabilities Professional (QIDP) is responsible for coordination and management of the overall system; personnel and service/support needs for individuals. The Program Director hat will focus on management, direction, and supervision of personnel and the home environment. Hiring the highest quality of staff and assuring their complete orientation, and ongoing training are of the highest priority. As the QIDP you ensure the program of services and supports are developed, implemented, coordinated, and monitored to the highest degree possible in accordance with state and federal rules and regulations. The QIDP will chair all individual service plan meetings, coordinating with team members, families, guardians, and other colleagues and advocates as needed. The focus of all services and supports should be person centered and based on the individuals self-determined goals for their life.


Duties:

The following duties assures the atmosphere of overall service provision is therapeutic, provides optimal growth for individuals and preserves individuals’ dignity and self-worth while focusing on person centered and self-determination.

  • Provides coaching and development of all employees on an on-going basis.
  • Supervises and role models the delivery of active treatment services to individuals.
  • Communicates with support professionals in a manner which assures individuals are receiving optimal services on an ongoing basis.
  • Communicates with individuals, family members, and county board personnel about supports and options available for new service provision and developments.
  • Promotes a positive, cooperative relationship in all settings and meetings.
  • Must maintain a thorough, current knowledge of all state and federal rules, laws, and regulations pertaining to operation of an ICF/DD.
  • Knows and implements all programmatic policies and procedures.
  • Will work direct care as required to help assist with open shifts and needs throughout the shift.
  • Will carry and participate in the on-call rotation as needed and serve on agency committees as assigned.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor or through agency need.


Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree required in social services or related field and a minimum of one year of experience in the ID/DD field.
  • Must have experience in using the DODD OISP system.
  • Must be organized, flexible and possess excellent decision-making, time management and communication skills.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and personal automobile insurance meeting the minimum agency requirements.
  • Must be proficient with Outlook, Microsoft Word, Excel and other computer and office equipment.
  • Hours worked Full-time organizational position.
  • Schedule must be flexible to accommodate various program, home and staff needs.
  • The PD/QIDP is on call to receive emergency calls and if schedule adjustment is necessary, arrangements should be made with the Administrator.
