At the federal level, Congress continues to focus on reform of the healthcare system. OPRA continues to monitor the legislation, particularly with regard to its long-term care provisions (such as the CLASS Act) and the possibility of the extension of additional federal Medicaid (FMAP) dollars for the states (which is currently in the House version of the bill).
We have received several requests for information on this legislation and wanted to pass along a resource that is helpful in deciphering the many proposals under consideration. The Kaiser Family Foundation has a website set-up solely for the purpose of healthcare reform coverage. http://healthreform.kff.org/ Several tools are available to keep you informed, including a side-by-side comparison of the current proposals in the House and Senate. Access to the actual bill text is available at: http://www.thomas.gov/. HR 3962 is the House passed proposal and HR 3590 is the Senate vehicle.
